The company health insurance company BKK Dr. Oetker does not want to charge any additional contributions in the coming year 2011
The statutory health insurance company BKK Dr. Oetker does not want to charge any additional premiums from its insured in the coming year 2011 either. The company health insurance company explained this in a current press release.
A total of 16 health insurers are currently collecting so-called additional contributions from their members in addition to the regular insurance contributions. The majority of the funds that made such an additional contribution suffered significant losses to members. Therefore, additional contributions are very unpopular with the health insurance companies themselves, at least as long as they are not collected across the board.
The company health insurance company BKK Dr. Oetker announced that it did not want to charge any additional contributions in the coming year either. This was decided by the board of directors of the fund last week. The reason for this decision is the cash register's economically stable position. One is free of debt and benefits from a balanced and reasonable financial policy. In addition, the health costs of the insured would be significantly below the national average. The company fund had to spend an average of only 101 euros per insured person. The average measured for all SHI is currently around 126 euros. This would continue to make the health insurance company economically healthy. No cuts in services are planned.
"After the introduction of the health fund and a nationwide uniform contribution, the BKK Dr. Oetker remains on a constant course. Our service and performance standards remain high - and without an additional financial burden on our insured persons," said the CEO of the company health insurance fund, Klemens Kläsener .
The BKK Dr. Oetker is one of the smaller health insurance companies in Germany. Around 150,000 people are currently covered by health insurance. By not introducing an additional contribution, the BKK could continue to gain members. Because if a health insurance company charges an additional contribution, insured persons can exercise their special right of termination and change health insurance. As part of the health reform, health insurers can determine the amount of the additional contribution themselves from the turn of the year. Health economists assume that due to demographic change and an increase in expenditure, a majority of statutory health insurance companies will have to make additional contributions. (sb)
