New blog of the homeopathic medical association

New science blog of the German Central Association of Homeopathic Doctors (DZVhÄ) online.

(19.08.2010) The German Central Association of Homeopathic Doctors (DZVhÄ) has put its own science blog online with the DZVhÄ Homeopathy Blog. Previously, the International Society for Neural Therapy (IGNH) had already launched a science blog called Neural Therapy.Blog. This means that a second important medical association from the field of "complementary medicine" has decided to publish a science blog.

The doctor Cornelia Bajic, who is the 1st chairperson of the German Central Association of Homeopathic Doctors (DZVhÄ) e.V., gives, among other things, transparency and a questioning of expert opinions as reasons for the page. The aim is also to "make the DZVhÄ's position on scientific questions clear."

Bajic asks in the editorial whether the individuality of patients is given sufficient attention in medical research methodology and whether randomized clinical trials (RCTs) in medical operations provide for a probability of prognosis for the individual case. Observers assess the journalistic offensive of large complementary medical associations in response to the vehement attacks by critics of the methods.

This summer there had been a number of public statements, most notably an issue of the magazine "Der Spiegel", which had denied the effectiveness and financing of homeopathy by health insurance companies. For more information: dzvhae-homoeopathie-blog.de. (tf)
